EduClasses®California Certified Food Manager

  • State Regulations

Learn about the various state regulations concerning Food Manager Certification.

What are California Food Safety Requirements?

California Food Safety Requirements concerning Certified Food Manager exams and training along with Food Handlers Card training are very explicit within the California Food Code in that they require that the organizations providing the training are ANAB (formerly ANSI) accredited organizations per the California Food Safety Program and Retail Food page, and the California Retail Food Safety pdf .

FMC Food Managers Certification for California at www.FoodManagersCertification.com/California is an ANAB-CFP (formerly ANSI) accredited program that trains existing food managers and new food managers with proper food safety manager learning and behavioral objectives on becoming a Certified Food Manager.  Once the Food Manager passes the Proctored FMC Food Managers Certification exam they will become a Certified Food Manager within the state of California.  For that matter, the Certified Food Manager's FMC Food Managers Certiication Certified Food Manager certificate will be recognized throughout the nation.

The issued Certified Food Manager certificate is valid for 5 years and fully accepted within the state of California and the United States and its territories.

Concerning the Food Handlers Card program that the California FDA code requires to also be provided by an ANAB accredited food handler certificate issuer, FHC Food Handler Classes, www.FoodHandlerClasses.com/California also has that covered.  FHC Food Handler Classes for California is an ANAB Accredited Food Handler Training program and certificate issuer.

  • What are Los Angeles County California Food Regulations concerning Certified Food Protection Managers?

"The California Senate Bill No. 602 requires food facilities, except temporary food facilities, to have an owner or employee who has successfully passed an approved and accredited food safety certification examination from an accredited food protection manager certification organization, except as specified."

What is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate?
"A Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate is required for the owner or an employee of a food facility that prepares, handles, or serves non-prepackaged, potentially hazardous food.

There shall be at least one CFPM person at each food facility.
The CFPM certificate is obtained after attending a food safety training course and passing an examination from an accredited organization.
A list of Accredited Organizations can be found at the www.ansi.org"

FMC® Food Managers Certification is an accredited ANAB-CFP (ANSI-accredited) CFPM program, therefore it is fully accepted by Los Angeles County California Health Department
