  • State Regulations

Learn about the various state regulations concerning Food Manager Certification.

What are Delaware's Food Safety Regulations?

The State of Delaware requires high-risk establishments to have at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) on premises during all operating hours per Delaware Food Code § 2-102.12 and § 2-102.20.

Permitted food establishments that have a risk category of very low, low or medium may qualify for a variance from the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) in regards to Certified Food Protection Managers and are evaluated on a case by case basis.

To become a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM), individuals must pass an ANAB-CFP accredited certification exam from an ANAB approved provider such as FMC® Food Managers Certification by EduClasses®.

Always be sure to check with your local health department for any additional training and certification requirements.
