  • State Regulations

Learn about the various state regulations concerning Food Manager Certification.

What are the Certified Food Manager Regulations for Virginia?

Virginia Department of Health (VDH) states on their Certified Food Protection Manager page that, "As specified in 12VAC5-421-55 of the Virginia Food Regulations food establishments (including temporary food establishments) need to have at least one employee with supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service who is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM).".

Also, concerning accepted Food Protection Manager Certification Programs VDH goes on to state, "VDH recognizes the following Food Protection Manager Certification Programs accredited through Conference of Food Protection (CFP). A list of CFP accredited organizations is maintained by ANSI."

This state clearly indicates that FMC® is an accepted Food Protection Manager Certification program.
