    What are Hawaii's Food Safety Regulations?

    The State of Hawaii requires the person in charge of a food establishment to demonstrate basic food safety knowledge by successfully completing a department approved food safety program per Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) § 11-50-20(c). This includes the American National Standards Institute (ANAB-CFP) program.

    To become a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM), individuals must pass a food protection manager certification exam from an ANAB approved provider such as FMC® Food Managers Certification by EduClasses®.

    Always be sure to check with your local health department for any additional training and certification requirements.
